Stable, healthy housing is a blueprint for a vibrant community. Join Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity and some of Asheville’s culinary best for a fun and delicious evening of creative cuisine and craft beverages in support of one of our region’s most pressing issues– housing. The event takes place at 5:30pm on Thursday, October 13 at Rabbit Rabbit in downtown Asheville and is being produced by Shay Brown Events Management. Support is provided by Sustainable Community Sponsors Wells Fargo and Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, Multi-Generational Community Sponsors Kevin Click and April Liou, Cassie Dillon, Terminix, and an anonymous donor.

Putting a unique spin on an evening event, local chefs will serve up delicious breakfast-inspired dishes– for dinner. The menu reflects different perspectives of what ‘home’ means to each of the featured chefs including:

Ladies Who Brunch: Chefs Terri Terrell, Michele Gentille, Beth Kellerhals
Asheville Taco Truck Late Night Snack
Tastee Diner: Chef Steven Goff
The Restoration Hotel: Chef Daniel Nightingale
Chestnut: Chef Brian Crow
Holeman & Finch: Chef Linton Hopkins
Smoky Park Supper Club: Chef Michelle Bailey
The Hop: Ashley Garrison

“In my early teens I had the opportunity to be a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity building houses alongside community members and the soon-to-be homeowners,” shares Chef Terri Terrell. “To be able to give back to Habitat for Humanity, a vital local and global non-profit, thirty-five years later through my life’s passion of creating food that nourishes and is accessible to everyone is the ultimate privilege.”

Festivities include music from the Firecracker Jazz Band, two complimentary drinks, cash bar, door prizes, and stories from Habitat homeowners. Proceeds will help pay for the construction of an affordable, energy-efficient home in Habitat’s multi-generational New Heights neighborhood in West Asheville.

“Wells Fargo is proud to provide financial support for the construction, renovation, or repairing of homes for low-to-moderate income households,” said Rodrick Banks, Vice President, Community Relations. “Since 2010, Wells Fargo and the Wells Fargo Foundation have provided nearly $120 million to Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliates, including the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. Habitat is a great source of pride for our employees – and many of us are looking forward to getting back to volunteering this year through our work with Habitat.”

Breakfast is arguably the most important meal– a strong foundation for a good day. Stable, affordable housing is the foundation of a thriving community. Attend or sponsor this Habitat fundraiser to help our community thrive, one family at a time. Purchase tickets at eventbrite or learn about sponsorship opportunities here.
