• ReStore Proceeds Help Build Habitat Houses

Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity operates two ReStores – one in Asheville and one in Weaverville. The stores sell mostly donated home goods and building supplies at affordable prices to the general public, diverting 1,650 tons of material from the landfill each year. Proceeds from sales help fund Asheville Habitat’s building programs and help cover administrative and fundraising expenses. Along with Habitat homeowner mortgage payments, the ReStore is a sustainable funding source for the organization.

The Asheville ReStore was one of the first ReStores to open (in 1990), and today it remains a top performing store out of more than 900 ReStores nationwide. Our Weaverville location opened in August 2019.

ReStore Register Round Up Program

In 2019 the Asheville ReStores started a program call the Register Round Up. With every purchase made at the Asheville ReStores, shoppers have the opportunity to round their purchases up to the nearest dollar in support of a monthly local nonprofit of choice.  Since the beginning in 2019, we have donated over $29,000 to local nonprofits. To learn about our 2020 Register Round Up results, visit our blog. We are so excited to continue this pouring back in to our community in 2021!
