2017 Affordable Housing Summit
Presented by Pisgah Legal Services, City of Asheville, and Buncombe County

Join developers, planners, investors, local government leaders, and policy advocates to discuss strategies to meet affordable housing needs in the WNC region.

Local and regional experts will present on practical and solutions-oriented topics in development, policy, finance, and emerging trends in the field.

Pulitzer Prize winner Dr. Matthew Desmond, author of Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City, will make opening remarks, followed by morning and afternoon sessions and a lunch plenary presentation by Bruce Tolar on Missing Middle development strategies.

Dedication of Final 6 Homes in Hudson Hills

Join us as we celebrate the completion of Hudson Hills! We will be dedicating the final six homes with the homeowners families, sponsors, volunteers, staff and community well-wishers. Come enjoy cider, popcorn, cookies and good company and help us welcome six more families HOME!

  • Kraus-Cooper Cottage: Haywood Family
  • House built in recognition of continued generous support from the City of Asheville and Buncombe County: Jabs family

Presbyterian/Methodist House & Interfaith House Kick-Off Event

Join us as we celebrate the start of Presbyterian-United Methodist House #25 and Interfaith House #18!

Habitat staff and volunteers will be joined on the jobsite by representatives from various faith communities as well as the Hensley and Torres families who will come to call these houses their homes.

Lunch will be provided by Habitat for attendees and jobsite volunteers. Lunch will begin at 12:00; program will follow at 12:30.

After the speaking program, guests will be invited to help raise the first wall of the Presbyterian/United Methodist House and sign the rim board of the Interfaith House. All are welcome to attend – please join us!

*SPANISH* Habitat Homeownership Information Session

To begin the process of applying for a Habitat house. you must first attend an information session. You will learn about the program, have the opportunity to ask questions, and then applications will be handed out at the end of the 1-hour session. Questions? Contact Jill at 828-210-9370.
