ReStores
Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity operates two ReStores – one in Asheville and one in Weaverville. The stores sell mostly donated home goods and building supplies at affordable prices to the general public, diverting 2,277 tons of material from the landfill each year. Proceeds from sales help fund Asheville Habitat’s building programs and help cover administrative and fundraising expenses. Along with Habitat homeowner mortgage payments, the ReStore is a sustainable funding source for the organization.
The Asheville ReStore was one of the first ReStores to open (in 1990), and today it remains a top performing store out of more than 900 ReStores nationwide. Our Weaverville location opened in August 2019.
