Latasha Martin is living proof that multi-generational communities and support give our youth hope and wisdom to move forward. She has raised two boys and is now raising her grandson. With the economic shift, ensuring he has stability, safe and functioning housing, and overall happiness, has been hard.

The increase in rent and unstable economy have been challenges, but Latasha refuses to give up on her and her grandson’s dream of owning their own home. She is determined to break the cycle of poverty, and help her grandson, who carries more worry than a little boy should, see and experience the positives in life. Latasha turned to Habitat after many years of being hesitant to apply. Purchasing a Habitat home will help her show her grandson that dreams come true, and you can be or do anything you want, if you put your mind to it.

By partnering with Habitat, Latasha will purchase a two-bedroom townhome in the Glenn Bridge community. She and her grandson can enjoy playing in the yard, having cookouts, camping out, and planting a garden.
