Future homeowner Tessa moved to Asheville in 2010. Now a single mother to five children, she is highly motivated to provide housing stability for her family. Over the past few years, despite working two jobs, maintaining housing became a real challenge. Rents were rising fast, and purchasing a home felt unrealistic. Until she connected with Asheville Habitat.

Tessa and her kids have spent years living with family and in overcrowded housing. She never looks back or dwells on the past. Instead, she teaches her children to make the best of any situation and focus on moving forward. She has remained motivated all these years by her deep desire to provide her family with housing stability and enough space for them all to live comfortably.

By partnering with Habitat, Tessa is bringing her dream of homeownership to fruition. She will be purchasing a 4-bedroom single family home in the Glenn Bridge community. The Williams family looks forward to making memories in the new home that will provide a long-sought sense of permanence and security.
