Sierra was born and raised in Asheville and has always wanted to call it home. She is a devoted and hard-working single mother whose greatest priority is providing her daughter with a safe, stable, and loving home. She has worked hard over the years to give her daughter all the love, support, and opportunities she deserves, but rising costs of housing makes it increasingly difficult to get ahead.

While currently living in a 2-bedroom apartment, she has had to struggle with increasing rent costs every year.  Living on the 3^rd floor, they climb 3 flights of stairs since there is no elevator, and playing outside has become limited due to increased crime in the neighborhood. Sierra dreams of being able to provide her daughter with a place of their own, where the neighborhood is safe and they can belong to a caring community.

Sierra is grateful for the opportunity to partner with Asheville Habitat and is committed to reaching her goal of achieving homeownership. To her, this opportunity would not only change their current living situation, it would create a lasting foundation for her daughter’s future.
