Meet the Future Homeowners
“We consider it very beneficial for a family to own a house, so that the kids can grow in a home.”
– From Ion and Eugenia’s application letter
The Florea family immigrated from Moldova several years ago and quickly began building a new life in Asheville. Ion works hard to provide for the family, while Eugenia cares for their three young children, the youngest just a year old. Active in their church and community, they have made Asheville their home and now hope to put down permanent roots.
With the family of 5 sharing a 2-bedroom apartment, living in overcrowded conditions has made it difficult for the family to thrive. Through Asheville Habitat for Humanity, Ion and Eugenia dream of creating a stable, nurturing home where their children can grow, learn, and feel secure.
For Ion and Eugenia, owning a home means more than having a roof over their heads—it represents stability, dignity, and the fulfillment of years of hard work. They look forward to having a space to gather as a family, celebrate milestones, and welcome others into their home. Grateful for the opportunity, they are ready to invest their time, energy, and hearts into building a brighter future with Habitat for Humanity.
