Janna moved to Asheville in 2011 to be close to family and quickly found herself part of a loving community. Although she feels a strong sense of belonging and is closer to family in Western North Carolina, she has always dreamed of owning her own home- free from rundown apartments and the neglect of rental companies that fail to meet her basic needs.

She has always worked hard, even in her later years, striving for something better- something she can call her own. She works full time and has been diligent about learning credit building and budgeting, but until now, circumstances and timing had kept her from reaching her goal. That changed when she applied to Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity.

By partnering with Asheville Habitat Janna can put that dedication and hard work towards her dream of homeownership. Having a safe haven of her own is the best motivation and reward she could possibly imagine.
