Meet the Future Homeowners

“…this home would symbolize hope and resilience, reflecting the support and generosity of the community…it would transform our lives and enable us to contribute positively to those around us.”

From Alyscia’s application letter

Alyscia is a determined single mother of three children for whom she works hard to provide a safe and loving home. They currently live in a 2-bedroom mobile home that needs to be replaced due to age, and wear and tear. She is grateful for a roof over their heads, but poor insulation is driving up utility costs and worsening her son’s asthma. Alyscia longs to provide her children a healthy space to play and grow, that is also affordable for her.

When she came across a social media post about a Habitat homeowner information session, she saw a chance to improve her living situation and immediately applied. Though she did not qualify initially, she quickly took action to meet the requirements in the future.

It is that determination that has moved her forward in Habitat’s homeownership process. Being able to provide a secure, healthy environment for her children to create memories and focus on their goals, she considers her Habitat home a blessing.
