A devoted single mother of three, Dru has always dreamed of creating a safe, stable home where her children can thrive.  Balancing work, parenting, and community involvement, she is strength and determination personified.

She credits this to her grandmother, who Dru says taught her the importance of family and helped her endure difficult times. “It is now my responsibility to carry that legacy into my own family and make sure that her influence is represented by the way that I love and guide my children.”

For years, Dru has shared a room with her little one, while another child sleeps on an air mattress in the living room. As her kids matured, the need for space became evident. They needed a place to express their individuality, to do homework and to breathe. Through Habitat’s homeownership program, Dru will work side by side with her future neighbors building her 4-bedroom 2 bathroom home, giving everyone the space they need!
