Christopher and Chanransey moved to Mars Hill in 2021. They started a new chapter in their life in the middle of a pandemic. Despite the challenges they faced, they fell in love with the community and made many connections.

Over the last year, they have begun to outgrow their current rental. In search of a larger place of their own, the rising cost of housing left them feeling stuck and relegated to renting for years to come. Christopher and Chanrangsey refused to give up their search for homeownership. Reflecting on what they desired for their family led them to recall an experience of volunteering with another Habitat affiliate. They remembered the sense of community, support, and connection. Soon after, they applied with Asheville Area Habitat.

By partnering with Habitat, they are securing a stable place to live with the space they need, in the community they enjoy, allowing them to thrive together as a family.

About the Sponsor
