Meet the Future Homeowners
“The security of knowing our family is safe and ending our impossible search for a newly constructed home brings us to tears.”
-From the Korp’s application letter
Meet Richard and Bonnie, a devoted couple proudly celebrating 51 years of marriage. As a dedicated husband and father, Richard continues to pick up work to support his family, while Bonnie, a former teacher, now embraces the joys of retirement. As a couple, they play a vital role in caring for their disabled daughter.
As a tightly knit humble family they have persevered through many struggles. Despite their persistence, the Korp family’s need for stable and secure housing was a long-standing challenge. Their mobile home provides shelter but not the peace of mind they seek, especially when it comes to the needs of their daughter. They yearned for a place where their daughter would feel safe and where Richard and Bonnie could rest knowing they found decent, permanent housing.
Now, thanks to the partnership with Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, this dream will become a reality. With this new foundation, the Korp’s will have the safe, healthy space they need, and the reassurance that their hard work and dedication has paid off. This life-changing transformation means that there is a promise of hope, and a future where the Korp family can finally breathe easy, grow together, and live in a home that celebrates their strength.
