Allen, a devoted single father of 2, has spent the last few years working and going back to school for social work to ensure better opportunities for himself and his children. He spent years believing that dreams like homeownership were meant for other people. His focus had always been simple: work hard, put his children first, and make the best life possible with what he had.  But deep down, he hoped for something more – a place where his kids could feel safe and grow.

He has willingly sacrificed over the recent years, living in a basement apartment and sharing 1 bedroom with his 2 little children. While his humble nature expresses gratitude for his little place, the room for his growing children is getting smaller while the rent keeps getting larger. He has dreamed of trading his dark shadowy basement apartment for a sunny yard and separate bedrooms.

After years of doubting he deserved such a step, he finally took a leap of faith and applied to Habitat for Humanity. That decision is changing everything. Today, he is on the path to owning a home of his own – a home filled with love, room to grow, and a sunny future.
