“We hope that our dream will soon become a reality.”
-From Serhii and Olha’s application letter
The Bochkai family immigrated from Ukraine several years ago and Serhii immediately began working to provide for his family. Olha cares for their children, the youngest being 4 months old. They have made Asheville their home, and the family’s integrity and helpful spirit make them a loved family in their current neighborhood.
As their family grew, they realized that they wanted to invest in their own home and provide a firm foundation for their children. They applied to some other programs to no avail, and through friends they heard about Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity’s affordable homeownership program. With a renewed sense of hope, they applied.
Serhii and Olha are grateful to be moving forward with Habitat’s program. Knowing that buying a house is a huge decision, they are especially excited to be partnering with Habitat, noting they appreciate all the guidance and support provided. It is for this reason that their advice to anyone thinking about Habitat is “Apply! It is worth it!”
