Meet the Future Homeowners
“With the purchase of a Habitat home, I can give my children security of having their own space and a place to call home and also show them that no matter what obstacles may come their way, remember to always put God first and always chase their dreams.”
-From Lycia’s application letter
Future homeowner Lycia is a native of Asheville and a single mother to three children. She is highly motivated to provide affordable and stable housing for her family. Despite working two jobs, finding and maintaining affordable housing has been a real challenge. Rents continue to rise and purchasing a home felt out of reach. Until she connected with Asheville Habitat.
Lycia and her kids have spent years living in overcrowded housing. Instead of settling, she went back to school to increase her earning potential. She finished school and was as motivated as ever to provide her family with stable housing and adequate space for them all to live comfortably.
By partnering with Habitat, Lycia is bringing her dream of homeownership to fruition. She will purchase a 4-bedroom single family home in the New Heights community. The Norris family looks forward to making memories in the new home that will provide a long-sought sense of permanence, security, and space.
