More Than Houses

On October 21, 2017 a group of volunteers led by Habitat staffer and Global Village Trip leader Joel Johnson will head to Guatemala where they will install Healthy Home Kits which include Smokeless Stoves, Water Filters, and Sanitary Latrines. Though the trip is full, you can still help support our work and that of Habitat Guatemala.

Step 1: Learn about the issues families face when they don’t have access to clean burning stoves, potable water, or proper sanitation.

Step 2: See how these small kits are having a big impact by reading this story and exploring the drop-down menu below.

Step 3: Consider making a donation of any amount towards a kit – or purchasing an entire kit for $250. There are various ways to give:

“I’m a Global Village (GV) leader because I am passionate about connecting people from our affiliate with the work Habitat does internationally. My last GV experience was in Guatemala and as I worked alongside the local volunteers, I felt really lucky to be involved in an organization that is changing lives, in my own community and abroad. I became a team leader so I could help more volunteers gain an understanding of the impact Habitat has around the world.” ~ Joel Johnson, GV Trip Leader (pictured R)
