Wendy Rojas-Gomez became a mother at a young age, but she did not allow that to hinder her. With goals to achieve, she continued to put one foot in front of the other to support herself and her son. At age 18, she saved enough money to purchase a car. Her next goal was to purchase her own home. But with the cost of housing rising rapidly, Wendy soon realized that buying a house was out of her budget.

Then, Wendy learned about Habitat’s affordable homeownership program from a few families who had partnered with Habitat. Wendy applied, committed to seizing this opportunity to provide herself and her son with a home of their own. Through Habitat’s program, homeownership is within her budget. Owning a Habitat home will be life-changing, and it will begin a new chapter for the young family. It will provide stability and increase their comfort as they will no longer have to share a room. Each will have privacy and their own space.

Wendy will purchase a 2-bedroom townhome in the Glenn Bridge community where their family can start a new chapter and make memories.
