Victor’s family home in Oakley was passed on to him in 2018 and in desperate need of repairs. Victor’s cerebral palsy makes it challenging for him to maintain his home, let alone fix the costly repairs needed. Asheville Habitat’s Home Repair team went to work on the bathroom, back bedroom and kitchen- completely demolishing to redo the floor framing and plumbing. New vapor barriers, insulation, subfloor, and vinyl flooring were installed. The team installed a new door to the kitchen, put in new kitchen appliances, and painted. The drastic change to these three rooms has made Victor’s home a healthier living condition and improved his quality of life.
