“My biggest wish in life is financial stability and being able to give my daughter the life and home she deserves.”

~ From Taleah’s application letter

Taleah has worked in the medical field for over 7 years with a passion of caring for others and giving back to the community. After becoming a mother, she knew she had to get financially stable and find affordable housing.

She knows her daughter is fully reliant on her, and Taleah wants to be a positive role model and provide her with every opportunity possible. Becoming a mother gave Taleah motivation like she never experienced before, and the gumption to come up with a plan to secure better housing despite the challenging housing market in Asheville.

Taleah enrolled in school and came up with a plan to gain financial stability and provide her daughter with a place to call home. While she worked on her degree, she prayed and did research daily. She was excited and inspired when she read about the work Habitat does in the community, and without a second thought she applied for the homeownership program.

She has been approved for an affordable home in the Glenn Bridge community, where she and her daughter will start a new chapter in their lives.
