Meet the Future Homeowners

“With the purchase of a habitat home, I will be able to offer my girls a space they can call their own and show them it is possible to have their own home when you have the right community that is willing to help.”

From Evelyn’s application letter

Evelyn is a determined single mother of two growing daughters. They are living in a multi-generational household with her parents, all three of them sharing a single bedroom. As her girls enter their teenage years, the lack of space and privacy—combined with no heat or air conditioning in the home—has made everyday life increasingly challenging.

For Evelyn, homeownership has been more than just a dream—it’s been a goal she refused to give up on. Having heard about Habitat for Humanity through family members in Hendersonville who successfully went through the program, Evelyn saw a path forward. She applied not just once, but multiple times over the years. Each time she was turned down, she didn’t lose hope. Instead, she listened to the feedback, made changes, and continued to work toward her dream.

Now, after years of persistence and growth, Evelyn is finally moving forward in the Habitat homeownership process. To her, this opportunity is not only life-changing—it’s proof to her daughters that with hard work, determination, and the support of a caring community, dreams really do come true.
