SUMMARY:10th Anniversary ReStore Silent Auction: Auction Close and Celebration with Homeowner-to-be
DESCRIPTION:The auction\, like the ReStore itself\, provides funds for Habitat’s building programs. The ReStore Silent Auction House currently being built in West Asheville will become home to the Frisbee family this fall. There will be a small celebration with the Frisbee family at the close of the auction – at 2pm on Wednesday\, May 27th.  ReStore customers and Habitat supporters are encouraged to come meet the Frisbee family and sign a guest book and a stud wall. The signed 2×4 studs will used in the construction of a Habitat house. \nThe special 10th Anniversary Silent Auction includes mid-century furniture such as Norman Cherner molded plywood chairs\, a set of six J.L. Moller Model chairs\, a L. Jacobson Model table with 2 extending leaves\, and other collectible items. There are also other non mid-century items to appeal to a wider array of customers. A sampling of items can be seen here. Visit the ReStore between 9am and 6pm Monday through Saturday to view all of the items.

DESCRIPTION:Ten Thousand Villages in Asheville is hosting a holiday shopping benefit for local non-profit organizations. From Monday\, November 30th through Friday\, December 11th\, not only will your purchase benefit artisans around the world\, it will also help create change right here in Asheville. During those two weeks\, mention Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity at the checkout counter and 15% of your purchase will be donated to us! Join us as we support our global AND local community; use your purchasing power to change the world through fair trade! \nTen Thousand Villages’ mission is to provide vital\, fair income to craftspeople in the developing world by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories in North America.  The sale of these products helps to provide a fair wage for the artisans and enables them to pay for food\, education\, health care\, and housing. \nTen Thousand Villages is located at 10 College Street across from Pritchard Park and next to the restaurant\, Tupelo Honey. Their hours are 10am-8pm Monday-Saturday\, and 10am-4pm on Sunday. They will close at 6 pm on Tuesday\, December 8th \, for their annual volunteer appreciation party.
