DESCRIPTION:If you missed it last year\, now is your chance to enter the second annual “Habitat for the Holidays: 3D Printed Ornament Contest”! 3D printing is all the rage\, and here is your chance to dip your toes in the water or\, show us your skills if you’ve already got ‘em. \nNo experience necessary – learn via an online webinar or various online tutorials. Utilize free software to design your Habitat/Holiday themed ornament. \n\nThe winning design will be 3D printed as ornaments and sold to the public at the Habitat ReStore. Proceeds benefit Habitat’s building programs. The winner will receive his or her choice of a ReStore gift card valued at $100 or a 3Doodler 3D Pen\, as well as a free 3D print of his or her ornament. \nContest runs now through December 1st. DESCRIPTION:Ten Thousand Villages in Asheville is hosting a holiday shopping benefit for local non-profit organizations. From Monday\, November 30th through Friday\, December 11th\, not only will your purchase benefit artisans around the world\, it will also help create change right here in Asheville. During those two weeks\, mention Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity at the checkout counter and 15% of your purchase will be donated to us! Join us as we support our global AND local community; use your purchasing power to change the world through fair trade! \nTen Thousand Villages’ mission is to provide vital\, fair income to craftspeople in the developing world by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories in North America.  The sale of these products helps to provide a fair wage for the artisans and enables them to pay for food\, education\, health care\, and housing. \nTen Thousand Villages is located at 10 College Street across from Pritchard Park and next to the restaurant\, Tupelo Honey. Their hours are 10am-8pm Monday-Saturday\, and 10am-4pm on Sunday. They will close at 6 pm on Tuesday\, December 8th \, for their annual volunteer appreciation party.
