The Vasylenko Family
The Vasylenko Family
Olena Vasylenko has worked as a house cleaner for the Windsor Capital Group (Renaissance Hotel) for nearly five years . Determined to improve her family’s living situation, Olena saved for more than two years to move her family out of an apartment complex plagued with drug and criminal activity. While in safer housing, her current rental has other issues, including excessive heat bills ($200+) during the winter months. Apartment management neglects many repairs forcing a financial burden on Olena.
Olena has been diligent during the application process, and was thrilled to learn she was approved for Habitat’s homeownership program. She plans to garden and maintain her home, and she’s looking forward to participating to the process by completing sweat equity. Olena’s children, age 17 and 20, will also be contributing sweat equity. Both children attend AB-Tech.at.
