STATUS: Infrastructure complete.  Four homes were built in 2006; 18 additional homes will complete this subdivision. 

The land for the Woodland Court sub-division was purchased from a local land developer in 2005.  This 4 acre parcel is conveniently located to the expanding shopping and business districts of West Asheville and will provide 22 Habitat families with new Arts and Crafts style houses.  All houses will have interior designs that allow access for the physically challenged; exterior design will allow for minor retrofitting should a ramp for accessibility be required at a later date.  In cooperation with North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and Advanced Energy Corporation, all 22 houses will be built to Energy Star Home Certification.  These third-party tested building standards ensure that our homes are not only affordable to purchase but affordable to own.  The standards incorporate numerous energy efficient designs, materials, and appliances.  In addition, all homes will be certified silver-level HealthyBuilt Homes for environmental sustainabliity by the WNC Green Building Council.
