Employees of the participating banks and WCQS volunteered time to help build this house.


Joel Downs

The Bankers for Habitat House will be home for Joel Downs.  Joel is a former Bank of America employee who has been disabled since 1995. 

Joel has been living in a 20-unit apartment facility intended for persons with physical disabilities learning to become more independent. He is ready to make the move to his own home.  Joel looks forward to being part of a neighborhood where he can interact with people. 

Joel works as a part-time researcher for Triad Capitol Funding.  He is doing his Sweat Equity in the administrative office of Asheville Area Habitat and at the Home Store.
