Volvo Construction Equipment is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction machines.  They are also the world’s oldest industrial company still active in construction machinery; their first machine shop opened in Eskilstuna, Sweden in 1832.  Asheville, North Carolina is home to Volvo’s Construction Equipment North American Headquarters.  Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity is proud to partner with Volvo Construction Equipment to build a safe, decent and affordable home for another deserving family.

The Castillo Family
The Castillo Family

Hortensia Castillo is a single mother of three children.  She is employed at Genova Diagnostics as a lab administrator.

The Castillo family currently lives in a two-bedroom rental house in an unsafe neighborhood; their house has been broken into twice.  There are also significant issues with mold, water runoff, and an insufficient heat source.

The Castillos are excited about moving to a safe, decent and affordable house in the Enka Hills neighborhood.  Hortensia is happy that her children will have a safe place to live and play.  Hortensia’s youngest daughter is especially eager as some of her friends from school live in Enka Hills.
