Lina and her daughter
(After a festival with face painting)
THE ZUNIGA-CHAN FAMILY

Lina Zuniga-Chan and her daughter are excited about the prospect of moving to a safe and decent home in Habitat’s Enka Hills neighborhood.  A property manager at Ledgewood Village Apartments, Lina is looking forward to taking the next step and moving from renter to owner.

Additionally, Lina is hopeful that her HealthyBuilt Habitat house will help improve her daughter’s severe asthma and chronic allergies.  Lina moved at the recommendation of her daughter’s doctor after several surgeries did little to help her daughter’s condition.  She has not seen any improvement in her daughter’s health because their current living environment still has poor insulation, water damage, rodents, and leaking windows.

Lina learned about Habitat’s homeownership program through a Habitat Partner Family.  After her friend encouraged her to apply, she was thrilled when she learned she met the qualifications and Habitat’s board of directors approved her application.
