The Hurst Family
Michael and Tara Hurst both grew up in the Asheville area. They currently rent a small three bedroom apartment. The windows leak when it rains, they deal constantly with ant infestations, and they believe drugs are being sold in the neighborhood. The Hurst family was thrilled to learn about Habitat as they had been looking at homeownership options but had been unable to find anything affordable.
Mike has worked for several municipal governments over the last 14 years. Currently he works with the City of Asheville in the Water Department. He has been promoted twice in a short period of time and is now the crew chief in waterline repair. Tara stays home to care for the children.
The Hurst family is very familiar with Enka Hills as they have friends in the community. The entire family is eager to live near their church, place of employment, and friends. The children in particular desire room to play and a safe environment.
All the members of the Hurst family were born at Mission Hospital!
