Angela Caffaro
Angela Caffaro moved to Asheville in 2001, she spent the majority of her life in New York. In her words, she is a “retired professional secretary,” having worked in various capacities at West Point, Metropolitan Life, the U.S. Postal Service, and for the State of New York. She also was a teacher’s aide for profoundly mentally retarded patients. While her fixed income does increase annually, she fears that annual increases in rent will eventually be too high to afford living independently in Asheville.
Angela has problems with arthritis in her knees and her current apartment is not sufficiently accessible. She is looking forward to living in her 2 bedroom Enka Hills home, which will incorporate some accessibility features.
Angela has started her sweat equity hours in the Habitat office.
