The Carter-Thijs Famly
The Carter-Thijs Family

Laura Carter and Eduard Thijs and their teenage daughter currently rent a small house in Asheville, overcrowded by Habitat standards as there is not a definable bedroom in the home.  The structure is also affected by insufficient heat source, lack of insulation, and problems with plumbing.

The Carter/Thijs family is excited about owning their own safe, decent and affordable home and they’re equally excited to help build their home.  They feel strongly about joining a community in which everyone has worked hard (literally) for their home, where they can share a common sense of pride and enjoy a sense of community.

Laura works with her parents at their family owned business, Thyme in the Garden, in North Asheville.  Eduard is employed by Bionic Painting where he works on both commercial and residential projects.
