We accept donations of usable merchandise in good condition. All donations are tax deductible. Below is a general guideline of merchandise that we are able to accept. Please call Paul Reeves at 777-0743 or the Home Store 254-6706 with any questions you have regarding the donation of building materials.
The donated merchandise is resold to the general public through our Home Store. Profits from Home Store operations are used to support the building program of Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity

• Must be in working condition
• Only white, black, almond or stainless steel
• Microwaves with turntables
• Digital wall ovens and drop-ins
BUILDING SUPPLIES
• Concrete block – all sizes
• Vinyl siding – full boxes
• Shingles – full bundles
• Insulation – full rolls or bundles
• Nails and screws – full boxes
CABINETS
• Kitchen cabinets, countertops, and sinks – new and used in good condition
• Bathroom vanities and countertops – new and used in good condition
• Must have all doors and drawers
DOORS AND WINDOWS
• Interior doors– solid or panel doors only
• Exterior – keys required with locksets
• Sliding glass doors - thermal pane with complete frames; no aluminum colored doors
• Storm doors - with complete frames, no aluminum colored
• Windows - thermal pane with complete frames
• No storm windows accepted
ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES
• Light fixtures – new or used in good condition
• Ceiling fans – new or used in good condition with all mounting hardware
• Electrical supplies – new switches, plugs, plates, boxes, conduit, etc…
FLOORING AND TILE
• Wood flooring – 40 square feet and greater
• Ceramic tile– new, full boxes only
• Vinyl flooring – new sheet goods 5 x 8 or larger, new tile in full boxes
• New Carpet – 5 x 8 or larger
• Laminate – new, full boxes only
HARDWARE
• Lock sets - interior and exterior with keys, new or used in good condition
• Knobs, pulls, hinges, sash locks – new only
• Specialty hardware – new only
LUMBER
• Dimensional lumber – 6’ or longer, new or like-new
• Sheet goods – 4’ x 4’ or larger, new or like-new
• Sheet rock and cement board – 4’ x 8’ sheets and larger, new only
PLUMBING
• Sinks – kitchen, bath and utility sinks, new or used in good condition
• Commodes – 1.6 gpf only
• Bathtubs – new or used in good condition
• Hot waters heaters – 5 years old or less
• New plumbing supplies
• Shower doors – new or used in good condition with complete frames and free of caulking and mold/mildew
TOOLS
• Hand tools, power tools, shop tools – new and used in good condition
• Ladders and scaffolding – new and used in good condition
• Garden tools – new and used in good condition
LANDSCAPING
• Pavers and block – new only
• Fencing – wood or metal, new or used in good condition
• Trees and shrubs – in pots or with wrapped root balls
HEATING AND COOLING
• Heat pumps and electric furnaces – only if under transferable warranty
• Natural gas and propane furnaces - only if under transferable warranty
• Central AC units - only if under transferable warranty
• No electric baseboard heaters accepted
