Building a Way Home
Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity has raised more than 245 roofs, now it's time to raise the bar. Our $5m Building a Way Home campaign will triple the number of families we serve by 2014. We need to eliminate sub-standard housing from our community and we need your participation to make that happen.
Building A Way Home includes:
Acquiring and developing 150 building lots for future house construction. Land is the first step towards building houses and neighborhoods. Learn about our Adopt-a-Lot program.
Implementing Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI) - our Home Repair program - to broaden the scope of services to include repairs and rehabs of existing houses in the community
Purchasing and renovating the old Southern Railway building at 33 Meadow Rd. for Habitat's administrative offices, and construction and deconstruction warehousing
Expanding the existing Home Store at 31 Meadow Rd., adding 13,000 square feet of retail space and 135 parking spaces (also renamed to ReStore)
