Building a Way Home

Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity has raised more than 245 roofs, now it's time to raise the bar. Our $5m Building a Way Home campaign will triple the number of families we serve by 2014. We need to eliminate sub-standard housing from our community and we need your participation to make that happen.

Building A Way Home includes:

  • Acquiring and developing 150 building lots for future house construction. Land is the first step towards building houses and neighborhoods. Learn about our Adopt-a-Lot program.

  • Implementing Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI) - our Home Repair program - to broaden the scope of services to include repairs and rehabs of existing houses in the community

  • Purchasing and renovating the old Southern Railway building at 33 Meadow Rd. for Habitat's administrative offices, and construction and deconstruction warehousing

  • Expanding the existing Home Store at 31 Meadow Rd., adding 13,000 square feet of retail space and 135 parking spaces (also renamed to ReStore)

If you are interested in joining a Building A Way Home tour, please contact Kit Rains at 828.210.9365.  If you would like to donate to the campaign and help us bring more families home, simply click here to make a secure on-line donation.  Thank you!
