Tammy Nash, a Patient Registration Specialist at Mission Hospital, was recently approved to purchase a Habitat home. Her children are young—young enough not to remember what living in inadequate housing is like, where they can’t drink the water because it is brown. Their new home will be an Energy Star certified HealthyBuilt home, and their water will be clean. But, Tammy’s Habitat home is not fully funded yet. Please donate now to ensure the Nash family will have a safe and decent home.
On Monday, April 16, we celebrated the completion of the 2011 Xmas Jam House. Warren Haynes, in town for a show at the Orange Peel the night before, joined Habitat staff and supporters to welcome Michelle Bevans and her children home and present the proceeds check from the 2011 Xmas Jam.
On Friday, April 20th the first wall of a house made possible by proceeds from the ReStore's Silent Auction and a donation from the Asheville Brewers Alliance was raised! The event was held in the Carney Place neighborhood in West Asheville.
Parris Finley and her two children celebrated the start of construction on their new home on Friday, March 16. The Finley family, Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity representatives, and sponsors - Thrivent Financial members and members from the local supporting Lutheran churches - celebrated in a short ceremony before physically raising the first wall of the home.
