Individual Gifts

Skip & Mary Pearlman
A large percentage of donations to Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity comes from individual contributors. Your gift not only helps build a house, but it is an investment in changing the lives of a new homeowner family. From the coins given by children from their piggy banks to a six-figure major gift by a corporate executive, each gift makes a difference.

You can make an immediate contribution by clicking on Donate Today or by filling out our printable donation form and mailing it, along with your contribution, to:

Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity
30 Meadow Road
Asheville, NC 28803

Gifts from the Heart

You can honor family and friends with a donation to Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. Your gift will help a Buncombe County family get out of inadequate housing and into a home of their own. Whether it is a birthday, anniversary, holiday, or other special occasion, your gift will be a special one that will continue giving into the future.

You can give a Gift from the Heart on-line or by printing our Gifts from the Heart donation form and mailing it to our office. For a minimum gift of $10, we will send a gift card to your designated honoree.

Gifts of Stock

Many individuals choose to make a contribution through a gift of stock. We have an account through which we can easily handle a transfer. Contact Jim Lowder, Director of Development for information about making a stock donation.

Matching Gifts

You may be able to double or triple your donation. Many businesses and corporations will match employee or retiree gifts. Check with your company’s human resource department. Complete and send your company’s matching gift form with your contribution.

Giving Club

Join Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity’s Giving Club. Participants in this club make an annual pledge at six varying levels, payable in six bi-monthly installments. Pledges can be paid at one time or bi-monthly. Donations can be made by check or credit card. Contributions provide a base of funding for construction of six of our houses. Participants receive a bi-monthly update with a story about the family for whom they are helping to provide a home.

United Way Contributions

If you are planning to make a contribution to United Way, either directly or through your company, you can designate your gift to Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. United Way’s donor option program enables you to get credit for giving to United Way and at the same time support the work of Habitat.

House Sponsorships

You can sponsor an entire house. There are four different levels of named gift opportunities for sponsorship of a house. Visit our House Sponsorship page for detailed information.

In-Kind Gifts

Contributions of new construction materials, tools, and professional services help us keep the cost of house building as low as possible. Contact Jim Lowder, Director of Development for information about what we currently need and how to make a donation of building materials.

Donations of building materials, home furnishings, appliances, cars, boats and trailers can be made to our Home Store. Call the store at (828) 254-6706 for information about donations and to make arrangements to have your items picked up.

We are always looking for land on which to build houses. To discuss a land or property donation, contact Lew Kraus, Executive Director.

Planned Gifts

You can partner with Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity to help eliminate substandard housing in Buncombe County by remembering us in your will or by making another type of planned gift. You can create a legacy that will continue building a better future for families in our community for years to come. To discuss a planned gift, contact Lew Kraus, Executive Director or Jim Lowder, Director of Development.
