Meet the Deconstruction Team

Paul Reeves
Director of Construction Services Paul Reeves piloted Habitat’s Deconstruction program in 2007, and now manages it and the rest of Habitat's construction programs.  Paul has been with Asheville Area Habitat for 7 years and was previously the Assistant Home Store Manager.  He is also an active member of the WNC Green Building Council and The Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County.

Joel Johnson
Asheville Area Habitat’s Deconstruction Supervisor Joel Johnson oversees Deconstruction projects, supervises and instructs volunteers, and assists Paul in scheduling jobs and resources. He also functions as a Crew Chief on deconstruction projects. Joel was previously Site Supervisor/Development Assistant with Falcon Development of N.C., managing construction projects from estimating through completion.

Aaron Byard
Assistant Deconstruction Supervisor Aaron Byard assists Joel in the supervision and instruction of volunteers on deconstruction projects, leads deconstruction crews and assures that proper and sufficient materials and equipment are available for each day’s work. Byard came to Asheville Area Habitat from CMD Carpentry in Asheville, where he was a framing, trim and siding carpenter.
