Our Values
Housing is a foundation stone on which human development occurs.
Every woman, man, and child deserves a safe, decent, affordable home, regardless of where they live in the world.
The interaction of volunteers, donors, and partner families enhances the spirit of community.
People need capital, not charity – a hand up, not a hand out.
Houses are purchased at cost with interest-free loans.
Every partner family invests unpaid labor into home production.
Paying for a home gives dignity to people.
People from all walks of life, working together to achieve a common goal, create life-changing partnerships.
By living out these fundamental values, persons and communities are empowered.
Our Mission
Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc. is a nonprofit ministry dedicated to building simple, decent houses with community volunteers in partnership with qualified families currently living in inadequate housing.
Our Vision
In partnership with the community, we strive to change lives by eliminating sub-standard housing.
