About Us

Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to build and sell homes to families in need.

Founded in 1983 as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Asheville Area Habitat builds safe, decent and affordable houses within Buncombe County.  Habitat's office and Home Store are located on 30 Meadow Road just north of the railroad tracks in Biltmore Village (map).

Our goal for July 2009-June 2010 is to build 17 houses. This means starting a new Habitat house every 21 days!

First house at Enka Hills

We are currently building in the Enka Hills subdivision which will be home to 54 Habitat families when complete.

CHECK OUT OUR VIDEOS!
Thanks to Bclip Productions we now have some great video clips featuring Habitat homeowners and volunteers. Hear directly from homeowners (partner families) about the homeownership process and what having a Habitat house means to them. And let our volunteers tell you all about helping out at the Home Store, office and construction site. Please click here to see the videos and learn more about Asheville Area Habitat.
